Six years ago, I sat in a McDonald’s booth interviewing with a principal who had a Longhorn hat on. {His school was being renovated.} Two months later, I was in a classroom at his school starting my 4th year of teaching. Today, Mr. Junco is going boldly in the direction of his dreams and is no longer the principal of Story Elementary. He is the principal of Cheatham Elementary (Allen’s new elementary) which he will open in August.
Mr. Junco,
Thank you for teaching me about true compassion and to always do what is best for all students. Thank you for making me a better person and allowing me the opportunity to teach under you. You will be missed and I’m proud of you!
Traditionally, we “ring out” our 6th graders on the last day of school and appropriately enough, today we “rang out” Mr. Junco. We {all of the staff and students} put on our mustaches and rang our bells loudly for the man who has “driven the Story ship” for 10 years.
