Spider Bug, Grasshopper Bug…Whatever You Are, Please Go Away!

Right after lunch today, I got a call from Stephanie, the angel who keeps Carson, telling me that he was sick and we needed to pick him up.  Dewey went to pick him up, I came home, Dewey left for baseball, and I called my friend to see if she could help me out with Sarah.

Mater blanket makes everyone fell better!!!

Sarah’s school had a Chinese New Year Celebration this evening and we were responsible for brining the food.  My friend, Katie, and I had planned all week to be there and eat dinner.  I called her to see if she could celebrate with Sarah and bring her home, as I was home with Carson who was sick.  {I started to call grandparents, but knew they were working.}  Without hesitation, she said yes and stepped up to the plate.  When Sarah got home, this was our conversation.

Sarah:  “Mommy, I’m on blue today!”

Me: “That’s great honey!  How was your celebration?”

Sarah: “It was great.  Carson couldn’t be there because he is sick?” {She was asking a question instead of stating a fact}

Me: “Yes, he has a stomach bug".”

Sarah: “Is it a spider bug?”

Me: “No baby, he is sick.  He doesn’t have a real bug in his tummy.”

Sarah: “Oh, is it a grasshopper bug?”

{I knew she was thinking of the book…I know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly}

Me: No, not a real bug.  He is sick and he just needs to rest.”

Sarah: “Oh”

I hope this {spider or grasshopper} stomach bug doesn’t hang around the house long.  And I’m all for sharing…except for this time.

Happy Birthday Braydon!

Sarah and Carson’s friend had his 4th birthday party today and the kids loved every minute of it.

I love this picture…in 17 years, they won’t have Chuck-E-Cheese Tokens in their cups.  But for now, Cheers to Chuck-E!

We played games…

Valentine Sweets

Valentine’s was very low key here at our house this year.  Thanks to the grandparents, our kids got spoiled.  If it were up to Dewey and I, they would of only gotten a heart sucker.

Sarah’s Valentine’s ready to go for her {belated} Valentine’s Party tomorrow.

Carson’s monkey and candy from Grandma and Papa Coach.  He has a great kissing sound effect.  Sarah got a monkey and candy too, but they didn’t make the photo shot because they “had to” take a nap {with Sarah}.  So they are nice and warm in her bed.

Boat Show 2010

We went to the Boat Show on Friday and had a blast.  The kids enjoyed fishing and even got prizes {a trophy and a sucker}.

Puppy Love

Carson L.O.V.E.S. our lab, Coal.  It is a mutual thing and every time they see each other, giggles are heard and tails are waggin’!

Carson’s two most favorite things:  his thumb and his dog…

Coal also enjoyed the snow and she thought she was our third child playing in it…

{I thought it was funny that she had to have at least one paw up out of the snow…like her other three paws weren’t freezing!}

Let It Snow

What a beautiful afternoon! And to top it off…we don’t have school tomorrow. I hope everyone enjoys sleeping in and having fun in the snow, while it lasts.

{Please remember that my camera is on its last leg…even though I edited these, they still don’t look great. Uncle Sam will hopefully bring me a new camera!}
