Can This Week Be Over Please?

I’m normally excited about the first week of school, and this year was no different.  I love getting a new set of students, having a clean slate, and I love that everything in my class is new and clean.  But, this week has been KA-RAZY at our house.  I was going to make a top ten list, but I can only think of three reasons as to why this week needs to be over…but they are really big!

So here we go, the top three list as to why this week needs to be over!

Number One…Sarah woke up at 2:00 AM on Monday morning (the first day of school!!!) with a fever and she was barking like a seal.  Can anyone say Croup?

Number Two…Carson woke up at 3:30 AM on Tuesday morning (the second day of school!!!) with fever and he was barking like a seal.  Can anyone say Croup…times two?

At this point,  I looked at Dewey and told him, “Well the good thing is that we don’t have anymore children to get sick, right”  To add to that I think they also had a touch of stomach gunk (I won’t go into detail).

Number Three…Last night at 8:00 PM, Dewey noticed that the air conditioner upstairs was not working.  When he went to investigate, he noticed that the compressor outside was clicking and the fan was not going.

So today, as I am home with Carson (who is still sick mind you), I called the AC repair man.  He said that in the outside unit there is a switch for the compressor and then the compressor itself.  He told me that our switch was out and it would cost us $600 to repair it.  But he suggested {don’t you just love their “suggestions?”} that we change out the whole thing because he hooked up our compressor to this tool that he had with green light, yellow light, red light.  And our compressor was on the last yellow light about to be red.  (He said that it probably would last until the beginning of next summer.)  And he could give us a new complete system for a mere $3,000.  So, Dewey and I decided to change out the switch for $600 and invest in homeowners insurance.

Come to find out I love homeowners insurance….don’t know why we didn’t sign up for it before.  We, NOW, have every major appliance/system in the house covered for $50 a month.  Now, I like the sound of $600 a year to cover everything if it breaks over $3,000 just for our AC unit.

So, with that…Can this week be over please?

Sorry it's at your expense, but I needed that. I thought my week had been crazy! I'm so sorry for you, but glad you found that homeowners pkg. My monther-in-law has been trying to get us to buy that for quite sometime. She has it and uses it on her ac unit at least once a year! IT'S FRIDAY!

It has been a tough one for you! Hope the kids are feeling better and you get some rest this weekend.
The AC thing is a pain in the booty. Our unit is only 7 years old and went out three times this summer. Thankfully, when they built the house they installed the wrong unit. They offered us a whole bunch of options to make up for the mistake- one was to keep the unit they did install and receive a 10 year warranty on all parts and labor. Guess what we took? Man it was nice to have that warranty this summer!
