Look Mom, No Cavities!!

I took the day off to take Sarah to her "first" dentist appointment and I was so nervous that she would not do good. Well, let me tell you...she proved me wrong. The hygienist and the dentist even commented on how well she did and how impressed they were with her being a good dental patient.

Sarah got her teeth cleaned, flossed, polished, and x-rayed. Sarah even let them put fluoride on her teeth without a fuss.

When they were ready to do x-rays, Sarah and the hygienist had to go into another room. The hygienist looked at me and said, "I am going to try to get one x-ray of her teeth, but she may not let me in her mouth to even get one...we will see." The hygienist came back with FOUR x-rays. And again, she commented on how very impressed she was with Sarah. She even said,"I hope all of my patients for today are this good."

Sarah has no cavities, 8 permanent teeth under her baby teeth, and she got a B for her brushing grade. Below are pictures from our day...

Sarah listening to the hygienist and looking at all of her "tools"...

Sarah relaxing (getting her teeth cleaned) and watching the Aristocats movie on the ceiling...putting the TV on the ceiling is genius I tell you... They even have cool eye wear so that the light will not shine in the kids eyes. It also makes them look really cool. hee hee :)

Picking out her toy from the treasure chest and showing off her ladybug ring...

As we were checking out, Sarah said (very loudly), "Where are the suckers?" Nice...I then proceeded to whisper in her ear that the dentist didn't have suckers, but that I would get her one later...She had to settle for a balloon...
The we went to lunch...
Then we headed home for naps...
After nap, we are headed to get my hair cut...What a fun Girl's day out!

Twist and Shout

Sarah got out her dress up stuff and decided that she would turn our game room into a production of American Bandstand. Here she is doing the twist and looks like she is going to follow in her Grammy's footsteps by becoming her high school twist champion.

Watch out, here comes AHS Miss. Twist 2023!
Here she is posing and she even has her crown. :)

Not Me! Monday

It is time for the Not Me! Monday post as created by MckMama.
Click on her name above to see what everyone else is not doing this week.
Here we go!!!
~I sooooo do not know that in 68 days, I will be on the beach!
~I certainly did not tell my husband that I thought it was a total waste of two hours (of which he would never get back in his lifetime) for him to sit and watch a baseball game from 19__ (fill in the blank) so that I could watch MY show.
~I absolutely do not LOVE Ty Murray on Dancing With the Stars.
~Cheryl, from Dancing with the Stars, is so not getting on my last nerve because I think she is a ...oh wait, this is a family friendly blog.
~I so did not almost make my blog non-family friendly because of Cheryl...from Dancing with the Stars.
~I have no clue that there are only 18 more days of school left!!
~And last but not least I'm pretty sure that my students have NO CLUE that there are only 18 more days of school left!!! UGH!!! :)
Happy Monday!

Down for the Count

Yesterday when I picked Carson up from Stephanie's, he was not 100%. He was having some "boy" issues and appeared to be in some discomfort. And he developed a fever last night. So I took Carson to the doctor today. His "boy" issues have seemed to be working themselves out and his fever is down from this afternoon. And I so took advantage of the cuddle time...Poor Baby!
Not feeling well at all, proudly displaying his sticker from the doctor's office, and holding onto his cup for dear life...

Carson says, "Seriously mom, enough with the pictures...hold me!" And I obliged! :)

Not Me! Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Here is what I was absolutely not up to this week...

~I most certainly did not start to cry in the middle of Hobby Lobby when my friend told me that Carson is growing by the day. (See post below).

~I most defiantly did not give my fifth graders board game Friday as a reward for working so hard on TAKS (state testing for you non-Texas teachers) this past week.

~I most certainly was NOT sitting at my desk, during game board Friday, when the superintendent of schools walked into my classroom!

~My prayer for Monday morning was not:
Dear Lord,
Please let me not get the pink slip today...see above. :)
Amen and Amen

~I am not blogging when I should be grading papers for Tuesday folders tomorrow!

~I have no clue that there are ONLY 23 more school days until summer break begins.

****Update: I really did not have my year end evaluation today by my assistant principal and while I was in her office, I certainly did not I asked her (half jokingly) if she had a pink slip for me, signed by the superintendent himself. She totally did not look at me puzzled and then asked for the story behind that question. And I did not forward my Not Me! Monday! post to her and on the way out of school today, she defiantly did not tell me, "Mrs. O'Neill, try to stay out of trouble." and then started laughing hysterically. I am so glad that my AP does not have a sense of humor. And I absolutely did not receive all exceeds on my year end evaluation!!! :)

I am so glad that none of the above happened to me this past week.
Happy Monday to you all!!

Top 6 Reasons That He Is Not My Baby Anymore...

This week, I went to Hobby Lobby with my fifth grade team members...who I love. I had to pick up Carson on the way, so when I got there everyone was inside. When I found the crew, Debbie (aka Gilligan and one of the crew members) said to me, "Oh my goodness O'Neill, he is growing by the day". I said, "Yeah, he is getting big" and proceeded to run around the corner and cry...in the middle of Hobby Lobby!

So, this weekend, I was reflecting on that and here are the Top 6 Reasons that he is not my baby any more...

1. He wants to get in, sit and play in daddy's computer chair...All by himself.

2. He wants to eat everything with his hands, even though he is given a fork and spoon...all by himself.

3. When anyone tries to help him, he turns his back, starts to run and says, "No, No, No." and wants to do it...all by himself.

4. A Capri Sun will fix just about any crisis, which he can drink...all by himself.

5. He can play and participate in family board game night...all by himself.

6. His chubby baby legs are all thinned out. And he did that by becoming more active and running around...all by himself. {Sniff, Sniff and excuse the eczema on his legs and no shorts}

Welcome to toddlerhood big boy! Even though you are growing by the day, I am blessed that you are doing things...all by yourself. And for the record, your name will always be Baby Carsoney to me. Love you tons!
